three years ago today was the end of four months of chemo and two months of radiation. three years! every day without recurrence is a milestone for any of us who have had breast cancer, but for triple negative breast cancer, three years is a biggie. ""Triple negative breast cancers have a relapse pattern that is very different from hormone-positive breast cancers: the risk of relapse is much higher for the first 3-5 years but drops sharply and substantially below that of hormone-positive breast cancers after that. This relapse pattern has been recognized for all types of triple negative cancers for which sufficient data exists although the absolute relapse and survival rates differ across subtypes.""
how am i celebrating today? after my daily bike ride and swim, i've volunteered to take photos of all the animals at the SPCA for their website. three years ago, when i finally walked out of that hospital after my last day of radiation treatment, i would have been thrilled to know that in three years i'd be biking and swimming in my beloved davis, then goofing off with a bunch of animals at the SPCA!

Congratulations! I'm also a TNBC girl, one year and four days from finishing treatment. (Not that I'm counting!) You "long timers" are an inspiration.
